RTAS 2027 (IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium) is a CCF B / ICORE A / QUALIS A2 conference held in New York City, New York, USA on 2027-05-11. The paper submission deadline is 2026-11-05. Acceptance notifications are sent on 2027-01-28.

Technical Tracks The conference consists of two tracks: Track 1: Systems and Applications This track focuses on empirical research pertaining to system- or component-level analysis, optimization, and verification, as well as applications, runtime software, and hardware architectures for systems with timing requirements. We highly encourage submissions from the systems, networking, architecture, and design automation communities exploring timing issues and predictability. Topics relevant to this track include, but are not limited to: Applications: Real-world deployments with timing requirements, such as autonomous systems, large-scale cyber-physical systems, real-time clouds and datacenters. Software stacks: Real-time and embedded operating systems, hypervisors, virtualization, containerization, middleware, and runtime frameworks. Hardware architectures: Predictable memory hierarchies, FPGAs, GPUs, neuromorphic platforms, and specialized hardware accelerators. Networking: Networks with timing requirements, Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), predictable wireless protocols, and deterministic software-defined networks. Distributed infrastructures: Microservice technologies, serverless platforms, cloud and edge orchestration, and CPS/IoT infrastructure. Real-time AI/ML: Predictable AI/ML pipelines, federated learning, real-time inference, and latency-bounded LLM serving systems. Tools and analysis: Application profiling, WCET and probabilistic timing analysis, timing-aware compilers, developer tools, benchmarks, and real-world case studies. Track 1 Submission Requirements: Papers submitted to this track should focus on specific systems and implementations. Authors must include a section with experimental results performed on a real implementation or demonstrate applicability to an industrial case study or working system. The experimental evaluation or case study should clearly highlight the key lessons learned. Simulation-based results are acceptable for architectural simulation, or other cases where authors clearly motivate why it is not feasible to develop and evaluate a real system. Papers discussing design and implementation experiences on real industrial systems are especially encouraged. Empirical survey-based research focused on the real-time systems field is also welcome in this track. This type of research uses surveys, questionnaires, interviews, use cases, or other empirical techniques to obtain information about the past, current, and future state of play in the research, design, development, verification, validation, and deployment of systems with timing requirements. Track 2: Applied Methodologies and Foundations This track focuses on fundamental models and analysis techniques applicable to systems with timing requirements. It welcomes contributions that develop rigorous approaches to practical challenges in such systems, including knowledge-based, data-driven, and hybrid models, as well as analytical, statistical, and probabilistic methods. Topics include, but are not limited to: Modeling: Modelling languages, modelling methods, data-driven model learning, model validation and calibration. Resource management: Scheduling algorithms, multi-resource allocation methods, shared-resource isolation, energy/thermal-aware management, and cross-layer orchestration techniques. Optimization: System-level optimization, design space exploration, and hardware-software, control-platform, or inference-scheduling co-design techniques. Verification and validation: Formal verification methods, contract-based design, testing, and validation methodologies. Track 2 Submission Requirements: Papers must describe the main context or use case for the proposed methods and provide clear motivating examples based on real systems. The system models and any assumptions used in the derivation of the methods must be applicable to real systems and reflect actual needs. Papers must include a section on experimental results, preferably including a case study based on information from a real system. The use of synthetic workloads and models is acceptable if appropriately motivated and used to provide a systematic evaluation.
