Computer Aided Geometric Design (CAGD) is an academic journal published by Elsevier. (ISSN 0167-8396, impact factor 1.7, CCF B).

The journal Computer Aided Geometric Design is for researchers, scholars, and software developers dealing with mathematical and computational methods for the description of geometric objects as they arise in areas ranging from CAD/CAM to robotics and scientific visualization. The journal publishes original research papers, survey papers and with quick editorial decisions short communications of at most 3 pages. The primary objects of interest are curves, surfaces, and volumes such as splines (NURBS), meshes, subdivision surfaces as well as algorithms to generate, analyze, and manipulate them. This journal will report on new developments in CAGD and its applications, including but not restricted to the following: Mathematical and Geometric Foundations Curve, Surface, and Volume generation CAGD applications in Numerical Analysis, Computational Geometry, Computer Graphics, or Computer Vision Industrial, medical, and scientific applications The aim is to collect and disseminate information on computer aided design in one journal. To provide the user community with methods and algorithms for representing curves and surfaces. To illustrate computer aided geometric design by means of interesting applications. To combine curve and surface methods with computer graphics. To explain scientific phenomena by means of computer graphics. To concentrate on the interaction between theory and application. To expose unsolved problems of the practice. To develop new methods in computer aided geometry. Software Impacts We invite you to convert your open source software into an additional journal publication in Software Impacts, a multi-disciplinary open access journal. Software Impacts provides a scholarly reference to software that has been used to address a research challenge. The journal disseminates impactful and re-usable scientific software through Original Software Publications (OSP) which describe the application of the software to research and the published outputs. Special Issue on Applications of NURBS in Architectural Geometry 투고 마감일: 2026-09-30 This special issue marks 50 years of NURBS and celebrates their enduring impact on architectural geometry. From early freeform exploration to today's integrated design-to-fabrication pipelines, NURBS have expanded what architects, engineers, and designers can model, analyze, and build. The collection invites successes and challenges, state-of-the-art reviews, methodological advances, and built case studies across topics such as surface modeling and rationalization, precision fabrication, performance-driven and multi-objective design, interoperability, and education. The contributions clarify where NURBS excel or strain, and how emerging approaches can strengthen spline-based practice. A concluding editorial draws from a commemorative panel discussion on NURBS at Advances in Architectural Geometry 2025 to compile insights and outline future directions.
