Call For Papers

FPL 2026 (International Conference on Field Programmable Logic and Applications) is a CCF C / ICORE B / QUALIS A2 conference held in Ghent, Belgium on 2026-09-07. The paper submission deadline is 2026-03-20. Acceptance notifications are sent on 2026-06-01.

The International Conference on Field-Programmable Logic and Applications (FPL) was the first and remains the largest conference covering the rapidly growing area of field-programmable logic, reconfigurable computing, and applications. The conference continues to bring together researchers and practitioners from both academia and industry from around the world. Many of the advances in reconfigurable system architectures, applications, embedded processing, design automation methods, and tools have been first published in the proceedings of the FPL conference series. This year, the 36th edition of FPL will be held in Ghent, Belgium. The main conference will take place from September 7th until September 9th, 2026. The workshops and tutorials will be organized on September 10th and 11th, 2026. Contributions within (but not limited to) the following topics related to Field-Programmable Logic and Applications are very welcome: Architectures and Technology Design Methods and Tools Application Acceleration AI/ML Acceleration Use of AI/ML to improve design tools Programming Models and Languages High-Performance Computing Run-time reconfiguration Coarse-grain reconfiguration Sustainability of and through reconfigurable components Prospective authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers in IEEE double column format. Submitted long papers are limited to 8 pages plus references (references must not exceed two pages), short papers are limited to 5 pages plus references (references must not exceed one page). This is a strict limit, and papers exceeding this limit will be rejected automatically. Papers will be accepted in the category they are submitted in (long or short) and there will be no possibility to buy extra pages on top of the allocated pages. The conference proceedings will be made available online during the conference. The conference proceedings will be published on IEEE Xplore. Long and short papers should be submitted at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fpl2026. Make sure to check out the submission guidelines for detailed information at 2026.fpl.org. There will also be a PhD Forum, intended as a venue for PhD students to present their work in progress and preliminary results, in a special poster session to receive feedback from other researchers. Abstracts for the Ph.D. forum will be solicited later in 2026. Regularly check 2026.fpl.org for updates on the call for abstracts.
