OPTICS 2020 (International Conference on Optical Communication Systems) is an academic conference held in Paris, France on 2020-07-08. The paper submission deadline is 2020-03-06 (extended). Acceptance notifications are sent on 2020-04-15.

SCOPE The purpose of OPTICS, the International Conference on Optical Communication Systems, is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested on any of the optical communication components of an optical communication system, or the system itself. Optical fiber is currently the main means for high-rate transmission in communication networks, while supporting the needed bandwidth and requirements that are expected to be imposed on the front-haul network to support the 5G vision. While 5G is designed to support a variety of heterogeneous applications such as massive Internet of Things (IoT), mission critical ultra-reliable and low latency machine-type communications and energy-efficient services, optical fiber communications and photonic networking systems are of paramount importance for driving crucial changes in the architecture of our telecommunication networks. In the last years, there is a great deal of ongoing research efforts that span the entire protocol stack of optical networks, with representative areas being architecture of optical components, optoelectronics, wavelength routing, energy efficiency, flex-grid optical networks and 5G-enabled optical backhaul architectures. Optical Networks for Future Networks Energy Efficiency in Optical Networks Passive Optical Networks Integration of Optical and Wireless Networking Lasers and Photonic Components Optical Access Networks Optical Amplification and Sensing Optical Modulation and Signal Processing New Optical Fiber Technologies Enabling the Cloud Through SDN and NFV Hybrid Optical-Wireless Networks Intelligent Optical Control Plane Packet Optical Networking Technology WDM Optical Networks FiWi Networks High Speed optical LANs and Gigabit Ethernet Opto-Electronics for Terabit Networking Next Generation Optical Networking Elastic Optical Networks Silicon Photonics Quantum Photonic Networks Optical Sensors ICETE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS ICETE 2019 will have several invited keynote speakers, who are internationally recognized experts in their areas. Their names are not yet confirmed. PAPER SUBMISSION Authors should submit a paper in English, carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling, addressing one or several of the conference areas or topics. Each paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable. To facilitate the double-blind paper evaluation method, authors are kindly requested to produce and provide the paper WITHOUT any reference to any of the authors, including the authors’ personal details, the acknowledgments section of the paper and any other reference that may disclose the authors’ identity. Only original papers should be submitted. Authors are advised to read INSTICC's ethical norms regarding plagiarism and self-plagiarism thoroughly before submitting and must make sure that their submissions do not substantially overlap work which has been published elsewhere or simultaneously submitted to a journal or another conference with proceedings. Papers that contain any form of plagiarism will be rejected without reviews. Authors can submit their work in the form of a Regular Paper, representing completed and validated research, or as a Position Paper, portraying a short report of work in progress or an arguable opinion about an issue discussing ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research focused on one of the conference topic areas. All papers must be submitted through the online submission platform PRIMORIS and should follow the instructions and templates that can be found under Guidelines and Templates. After the paper submission has been successfully completed, authors will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail.
