Journal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming (JLAMP) is an academic journal published by Elsevier. (ISSN 2352-2208, impact factor 1.0, CCF C).

Aims & Scope The Journal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming is an international journal whose aim is to publish high quality, original research papers, survey and review articles, tutorial expositions, and historical studies in the areas of logical and algebraic methods and techniques for guaranteeing correctness and performability of programs and in general of computing systems. All aspects will be covered, especially theory and foundations, implementation issues, and applications involving novel ideas. Topics of interest to the journal include: • Applications of algebras, co-algebra and categories to programming • Applications of proof theory and model theory to programming • Constraint programming • Foundations of Programming Paradigms • Logic programming • Logical Foundations of Program Security • Models and Analytical Models for Cyber-Physical Systems • Process Calculi • Programming Models • Quantitative Methods for System Analysis • Specification and verification of systems Researchers interested in acting as a guest editor should review the guest editor/proposal guidelines. The Journal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming complements Elsevier's Science of Computer Programming and Theoretical Computer Science by its focus on the foundations and the application of logical, algebraic and categorical methods to programming and to the development of trustworthy computing systems.

Special Issues

Special Issue on Reconfigurable Transition Systems: Semantics, Logics and Applications Submission Date: 2026-11-30 Reconfigurable Transition Systems (RTS) are dynamic relational structures (graphs) that evolve along its execution, in the sense that their accessibility relation, their set of nodes or their labelling change when their edges are crossed. These structures have proven to be suitable to compactly represent complex reactive and reconfigurable behaviours. Namely, the ability of reacting or readapting under the influence of certain events is a very distinctive feature of many diverse situations and objects. An autonomous vehicle that changes its route due to a new strike occurring, the behaviour of a software component after a memory disposal, or a DNA mutation as the result of a viral infection, are different examples that witness the importance of modelling about changes in adetermined situation. Practical user cases have aroused the interest of the logic community in the study of variants of RTS, by developing formal methods to properly reason about such situations. This issue aims to collect experiences and results from a community of researchers working on different ways to model reconfigurable and reactive systems from a formal perspective. This includes theoretical approaches (like hybrid logics, reactive frames, model-update logics, and topological and algebraic semantics), or formalisms designed for specific purposes (like separation logic in software verification, dynamic epistemic logic in AI planning, and others). Special Issue on Components Operationally: Reversibility and System Engineering Submission Date: 2027-01-31 This Special Issue of JLAMP collects selected contributions presented at the CORSE workshop—Components Operationally: Reversibility and System Engineering. The workshop was established to celebrate the 65th birthday of Jean-Bernard Stefani and to bring together researchers working on foundational and applied aspects of component-based and distributed systems. Guest editors: Assoc. Professor Claudio Antares Mezzina Department of Applied and Pure Sciences, University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Urbino, ITALY Special issue information: CORSE focuses on four main research areas: software engineering, system modeling, theoretical aspects of distributed systems, and reversible computing. The first three areas are strongly aligned with the traditional scope and interests of JLAMP, reflecting its long-standing commitment to rigorous methods for the design, analysis, and implementation of programming languages and systems. The fourth area, reversible computing, has gained increasing attention in recent years, driven by both theoretical advances and emerging applications in areas such as debugging, fault tolerance, and energy-aware computing.
