Número especial sobre Reconfigurable Transition Systems: Semantics, Logics and Applications Día de Entrega: 2026-11-30 Reconfigurable Transition Systems (RTS) are dynamic relational structures (graphs) that evolve along its execution, in the sense that their accessibility relation, their set of nodes or their labelling change when their edges are crossed. These structures have proven to be suitable to compactly represent complex reactive and reconfigurable behaviours. Namely, the ability of reacting or readapting under the influence of certain events is a very distinctive feature of many diverse situations and objects. An autonomous vehicle that changes its route due to a new strike occurring, the behaviour of a software component after a memory disposal, or a DNA mutation as the result of a viral infection, are different examples that witness the importance of modelling about changes in adetermined situation. Practical user cases have aroused the interest of the logic community in the study of variants of RTS, by developing formal methods to properly reason about such situations. This issue aims to collect experiences and results from a community of researchers working on different ways to model reconfigurable and reactive systems from a formal perspective. This includes theoretical approaches (like hybrid logics, reactive frames, model-update logics, and topological and algebraic semantics), or formalisms designed for specific purposes (like separation logic in software verification, dynamic epistemic logic in AI planning, and others). Guest editors: Dr. José Proença, University of Porto Faculty of Sciences, Portugal Assoc. Professor Umberto Rivieccio, National Distance Education University, Spian Special issue information: The areas of interest include, but are not limited to: **Reconfigurable transitions systems (RTS)** Models for the analysis of reconfigurable systems Applications of formal models for reconfigurable systems Computational tools to animate and analyze RTS Generalizations of RTS - Fuzzy RTS, Paraconsistent RTS, Weighted RTS, Stochastic RTS, etc. Featured Transition Systems Reconfigurable Cyber Physical Systems Logical Methods Dynamic Logics, Separation Logics, Dynamic Epistemic Logics for RTS Bisimulations and general algebraic constructions Model Checking and Tools Reactive systems and Process Algebra Logics for Cyber Physical Systems Topological and Algebraic Semantics Applications of AI for RTS Manuscript submission information: Submission deadline: November 30th, 2026 Submissions should follow JLAMP’s guidelines for authors, available at: Guide for Authors. Número especial sobre Formal Requirements Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Día de Entrega: 2026-12-30 Dear Colleagues, We are delighted to announce the Call for Papers for a Special Issue of the Journal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming (JLAMP) on Formal Requirements and Artificial Intelligence Guest editors: Marie Farrell, The University of Manchester —[email protected] Divya Gopinath, KBR Inc. / NASA Ames — [email protected] Anastasia Mavridou, KBR Inc./ NASA Ames — [email protected] Hazel Taylor, The University of Manchester — [email protected] Special issue information: This special issue explores the intersection of formal requirements engineering and artificial intelligence (AI), addressing a central challenge in modern software and AI system development: how to precisely specify requirements for increasingly complex, heterogeneous, and autonomous systems, and how to verify and validate that such systems meet those requirements. As AI technologies become deeply embedded in safety and mission-critical domains, from autonomous vehicles to medical diagnostics, financial systems to industrial automation and space exploration, the need for rigorous, formal approaches to requirements is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, traditional requirements engineering methods face new challenges when applied to systems with learning-enabled components, unpredictable behaviors, and emergent properties. The opacity of AI models and the semantic gap between high-level requirements and low-level model inputs and internals create significant impediments to verifying and validating that such systems meet their specified requirements. The special welcomes contributions on formal specification languages for AI systems, verification and validation techniques, requirements for trustworthy AI, case studies from real-world applications, and novel applications of AI to requirements engineering itself. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: * How can we formally specify requirements for systems with learning-enabled components? * How can formal frameworks capture fairness, safety, robustness and explainability requirements for AI systems? * How do we verify that AI systems meet their specified requirements? * What role can AI play in automating requirements elicitation, formalization analysis, and validation? * How do we bridge high-level requirements and behavior of AI-enabled systems to enable traceability, safety assurance, and certification? Manuscript submission information: We invite authors to submit high-quality, original research that has not been published or reviewed elsewhere. Submissions should adhere to the JLAMP formatting guidelines. We will try to re-assign the submissions of the extended abstracts accepted at RExAI 2026 to the same reviewers whenever possible. Submissions should follow JLAMP’s guidelines for authors, available at: Guide for Authors. Manuscripts must be submitted via the JLAMP Editorial System (EM): Editorial Manager®. To submit, select the correct article type: “VSI:RExAI 2026” from the Article Type dropdown menu during the submission process. This is essential to ensure that manuscripts are properly routed to the Special Issue workflow and do not enter the regular submission stream. Important dates (all dates AoE) ======================== - Submission deadline: 30 December 2026 - First round review decisions: 28 February 2027 - Notification of final decisions: 30 July 2027 - Tentative publication: August 2027 https://www.sciencedirect.com/special-issue/337105/special-issue-on-formal-requirements-engineering-and-artificial-intelligence

Número especial sobre Components Operationally: Reversibility and System Engineering Día de Entrega: 2027-01-31 This Special Issue of JLAMP collects selected contributions presented at the CORSE workshop—Components Operationally: Reversibility and System Engineering. The workshop was established to celebrate the 65th birthday of Jean-Bernard Stefani and to bring together researchers working on foundational and applied aspects of component-based and distributed systems. Guest editors: Assoc. Professor Claudio Antares Mezzina Department of Applied and Pure Sciences, University of Urbino Carlo Bo, Urbino, ITALY Special issue information: CORSE focuses on four main research areas: software engineering, system modeling, theoretical aspects of distributed systems, and reversible computing. The first three areas are strongly aligned with the traditional scope and interests of JLAMP, reflecting its long-standing commitment to rigorous methods for the design, analysis, and implementation of programming languages and systems. The fourth area, reversible computing, has gained increasing attention in recent years, driven by both theoretical advances and emerging applications in areas such as debugging, fault tolerance, and energy-aware computing. The papers included in this Special Issue provide a representative snapshot of current research at the intersection of these topics, combining solid theoretical foundations with practical insights. Together, they highlight the relevance of reversibility as a unifying concept and its potential impact on the future development of programming languages and distributed systems. Manuscript submission information: Submission deadline: Jan 31st, 2027 Submissions should follow JLAMP’s guidelines for authors, available at: Guide for authors - Journal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming - ISSN 2352-2208 | ScienceDirect.com by Elsevier. Manuscripts must be submitted via the JLAMP Editorial System (EM): Editorial Manager®. During submission, please select “VSI:CORSE” as the article type.
