Call For Papers
Published since 1969, Microelectronics Journal is an international forum for the dissemination of research into, and applications of, microelectronics. Papers published in Microelectronics Journal have undergone peer review to ensure originality, relevance and timeliness. The journal thus provides a worldwide, regular and comprehensive update on microelectronics.

Microelectronics Journal invites significant research and application papers in all the areas listed below. Comprehensive review/survey papers covering recent developments will also be considered.

Microelectronics Journal covers circuits and systems. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Analogue, digital, mixed, and RF circuit design methodologies
• Logic, architectural and system level synthesis
• Testing, design for testability, built in self-test
• Area, power and thermal evaluation
• Mixed-domain simulation and design
• Formal verification
• Embedded systems
• Design and test aspects of high density integration (3D, etc.)
• SoC, NoC, SIP, NIP design and test
• Emerging devices as FinFETs, SETs, etc.

Application aspects such as signal and image processing including circuits for cryptography, sensor and actuator design including sensor networks, reliability and quality issues, and economic models are also welcome.

Special Issue on Microfluidic circuits and systems for biomedical applications

In the past two decades, the microfluidic biochip, also known as Lab-on-a-Chip (LoC), has emerged to revolutionize the traditional biological, biochemical and biomedical experimental processes. Their tremendous impact can be attributed to the noticeable merits of microfluidic devices and systems such as miniaturization, automation, sensitivity, accuracy, throughput, etc. Nowadays, a microfluidic system integrates various devices, forming a cyber-physical system based on mechanics, optics, electronics, fluidics and high-performance computing – with killer applications in the healthcare field from single-cell genomics to personalized healthcare. Interested authors are invited to submit their works on the design of microfluidic circuits and systems for the wide range of biomedical applications. The scope of this special issue includes (but is not limited to): - New microvalve structures and devices in microfluidics - Single-layer and multi-layer continuous-flow microfluidic biochips - Paper-based microfluidics - Micro-Electrode-Dot-Array (MEDA) digital microfluidic biochips - Two-phase microfluidics - Cyber-physical(acousto, opto) microfluidic systems - Microfluidic circuits - Sensors and image/signal analysis for microfluidics - Design automation and testing in microfluidics - Simulation of microfluidic devices/physical implementations - Automatic control circuits and systems in LoC - Switching-based reliability enhancement and current/voltage optimization in LoC
