Call For Papers

ICSOS 2019 (IEEE International Conference on Space Optical Systems and Applications) is an academic conference held in Portland, Oregon, USA on 2019-10-14. The paper submission deadline is 2019-07-30 (extended).

Scope The International Conference on Space Optical Systems and Applications (ICSOS) covers technologies, procedures and algorithms that relate to free-space laser communications. The domain of the applications includes terrestrial, near-Earth and deep space (planetary). Areas of interest include components, devices, subsystems, systems (flight and ground), applications, laboratory and field demonstrations, algorithms, link models, signaling techniques and concept of operations. The venue of the ICSOS conference alternates every second (odd) year between US and Japan and is associated with the International Conference on Space Optics (ICSO), which takes place in Europe in the (even) years in between. Submitted papers will be reviewed and selected to for presentation at the Conference. Original papers are solicited on, but are not limited to, the following topics: Systems and applications: In-orbit, on-ground demonstrations and results Present and future laser communication systems and scenarios Laser communications technology for next generation applications Space-based and terrestrial-based optical communication systems Laser communication systems for small satellites Ranging technology with optical communications Imaging technology for optical communications Devices, components and subsystems: Optical devices for space-based applications Optoelectronic subsystems and components Laboratory demonstration hardware Basic link technologies: Atmospheric propagation, transmission effects, and compensation techniques Site-diversity techniques Modulation formats for space-based systems Trade-offs between optical and microwave (RF) systems Advanced technologies: Advances in quantum communications Novel optical devices and systems for lasercom New mm-wave/THz communication devices and systems Home Scope Program Abstract Paper Registration Travel
