Scope and Motivations

As the digital landscape continues to expand, the evolution of network infrastructure has become pivotal in shaping the future of connectivity and technological integration. From the foundational shifts in mobile networks to the sophisticated advancements in optical networking, the journey of network evolution is marked by continuous innovation and strategic vision. The 16th Global Information Infrastructure and Networking Symposium (GIIS2026) invites researchers, students, industry professionals, and academics to submit papers on the future evolutions of networking infrastructure as we look beyond 2030. This year’s symposium focuses on the transformative changes expected in Mobile/Fixed  Wireless/Optical networks, core network architectures, and the integration of advanced technologies such as AI/ML, cloud-native frameworks, 3GPP 5G-Advanced/6G, and sustainability practices in network deployment and management.
