Call For Papers
Synthetic Metals publishes research on the physics, chemistry and applications of organic and carbon electronic materials such as electronic polymers and electronic molecular materials including novel carbon architectures. The journal aims to advance the field of materials publishing articles which significant in the following areas:

conducting and semiconducting polymers and molecular materials
fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, related novel carbon architectures and nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS)
    supramolecular conjugated architectures
nanoscale electronic molecular and electronic polymer materials
organic charge-transfer compounds and metal chain compounds
    functional pi-conjugated systems
    organic-inorganic electroactive hybrids including perovksites
molecular- and polymer-based magnets and ferroelectrics

The journal publishes original research papers, short communications and reviews. Original research papers and short communications should present a significant advance in the understanding or application of these materials and/ or devices made from them. Experimental, theoretical and application papers on the chemistry, physics and engineering of these materials and their electrical, photonic and magnetic properties are encouraged for submission. Papers on electronic, optoelectronic, electroluminescent, lasing, solar cell, sensor, actuator, biological and other potential applications of these materials are also welcome.

Special Issue on Advances in Blue Organic Electroluminescence
Submission Date: 2024-07-31

Guest editors: Prof. Russell Holmes University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Email: rholmes@umn.edu Prof. Youngmin You Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea Email: odds2@yonsei.ac.kr Special issue information: While organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) continue to see broad application in displays, there remains a pressing need to develop a blue-emitting sub-pixel capable of simultaneously meeting the demands for efficiency, operational lifetime, and color purity. This issue is of Synthetic Metals is devoted to reports relating to blue organic electroluminescence, with a broad scope covering molecular design and synthesis, device design and characterization, and related spectroscopy, for emitters for emitters of various states, including the singlet state (fluorescence including triplet-harvested fluorescence via triplet-triplet annihilation (TTA) and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF)), the triplet state (phosphorescence), and the doublet state (radical emission). Manuscript submission information: Submission Deadline: July 31, 2024 Target Publication Date: December 1, 2024 You are invited to submit your manuscript before the submission deadline. For any inquiries about the appropriateness of contribution topics, please contact the guest editors, their contact information is listed above. The journal’s submission platform (Editorial Manager®) is now available for receiving submissions to this Special Issue.
