Call For Papers

UKICER 2019 (The UK and Ireland Computing Education Research Conference) is an academic conference held in Canterbury, UK on 2019-09-05. The paper submission deadline is 2019-06-14 (extended). Acceptance notifications are sent on 2019-07-05.

The first UK and Ireland Computing Education Research (UKICER) conference aims to bring together computing education researchers in the UK and Ireland to share knowledge, initiate collaborations, and form a strong computing education research community within the British and Irish isles. There are several international conferences in computing education research, some of which have been hosted here in the UK and Ireland. But while there has been a growing interest in computing education here, prompted by changes in school education and increasing HE enrolments, there is no UK- or Ireland-specific conference venue to discuss research and to help build a local community of computing education researchers. We aim for UKICER to be the research complement to practice-oriented conferences such as the CAS conferences for schools and CEP for higher education.
