Call For Papers

GCPR 2018 (German Conference on Pattern Recognition) is an academic conference held in Stuttgart, Germany on 2018-10-10. The paper submission deadline is 2018-07-04. Acceptance notifications are sent on 2018-08-27.

GCPR 2018 is the 40th annual symposium of the German Association for Pattern Recognition (DAGM). This time, the conference is jointly organized with the VMV 2018, the 27th International Symposium on Vision, Modeling and Visualization. Scope The GCPR addresses recent advances in theory, methodology, and applications of pattern recognition, machine learning and computer vision. Authors are invited to submit high-quality papers presenting original research. Submitted papers will be reviewed based on the criteria of originality, soundness, empirical evaluation, and presentation. In the long tradition of this conference series, the single track program and poster sessions will provide ample opportunity for open-minded discussions and interaction. The conference will also include tutorials, workshops, and a Young Researchers Forum. The scope of GCPR 2018 includes, but is not limited to, the following topics: Image/video processing, analysis, and computer vision Machine learning and pattern recognition Mathematical foundations, statistical data analysis and models Computational photography and confluence of vision and graphics Biomedical image processing and analysis Document analysis Biometrics Applications Special Tracks Particularly, we also encourage submissions in the following vision-related fields that will have dedicated track chairs to handle the corresponding submissions Computer vision systems and applications Pattern recognition in the life- and natural sciences Photogrammetry and remote sensing Submissions / Proceedings The paper length is limited to 10 pages (LNCS style) plus references, which are expected to be at most 2 pages in usual cases. In addition, supplementary materials can be submitted. All manuscripts will be subject to a double-blind review process. The conference proceedings will be published in the Springer LNCS series. The best contributions will receive GCPR awards. IJCV Special Issue From all GCPR 2018 submissions the best papers will be invited to contribute to a special issue of the International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV).
