SCI 2020 (IEEE conference on Smart City Innovations) is an academic conference held in Melbourne, Australia on 2020-12-08. The paper submission deadline is 2020-10-05 (extended). Acceptance notifications are sent on 2020-10-30.

Scope and Topics Smart Cities offer huge potential to revolutionize a range of application areas within today’s society including areas such as healthcare, energy management, transportation, security and smart buildings. This potential is built upon an intricate technical infrastructure including smart sensing/devices/materials, IoT, networking, cloud computing, big data, machine learning and mobile edge and cloud services. As such, SCI provides the opportunity for researchers to discuss the state-of-the-art from both a theoretical and application perspective. The Conference aims to provide a unique platform for multi-disciplinary researchers and teams, industry solution vendors, and government agencies to exchange innovative ideas and discuss challenges, research results and solutions. The IEEE SCI will include a highly selective program of technical papers, accompanied by workshops, demos, panel discussions and keynote presentations. Original contributions are welcome from both a technical and application perspective. The theme of the 2020 edition will continue to investigate how Smart City Innovations can manage issues surrounding reliability in addition to considering how ideas and concepts can be deployed on a large scale. The topics include, but are not limited to: Theory, Modeling and Methodologies - Smart city networking, services and infrastructures and reliability - Smart environment modeling, monitoring, prediction and analysis - Smart city frameworks, platforms - Smart city big data, open data, and urban computing - Smart utilities, consumption, sensing and IoT - Smart communities and neighborhoods - Modeling security, safety and privacy for smart city Applications and Industry Practice - Smart transportation system planning, evaluation, and technologies - Smart city sewage, water and electricity management - Smart city healthcare service monitoring - Smart city emergency altering, management and infrastructures - Smart city crime watching and alerting systems - Smart city education, training and social services - Smart home, smart building and social community networks/infrastructures Submission Guidelines Submissions must include an abstract, keywords, the e-mail address of the corresponding author and should not exceed 8 pages for main conference, including tables and figures in IEEE CS format. The template files for LATEX or WORD can be downloaded here. All paper submissions must represent original and unpublished work. Each submission will be peer reviewed by at least three program committee members. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register for the conference and present the work. Distinguished papers presented at the conference, after further revision, will be published in special issues of selected journals.
