Special Issues

Special Issue on Latest Developments in Intelligent Scheduling: Theory, Models and Applications 截稿日期: 2026-10-31 As businesses and services continue to operate in increasingly dynamic and uncertain environments, organizations face significant challenges in balancing rising costs with growing expectations for product and service quality. Intelligent planning and scheduling systems are essential for optimally allocating and utilizing key resources while addressing diverse and often conflicting objectives such as performance, punctuality, resiliency, responsiveness, comfort, and convenience. Recent advances in AI-driven analytics, interactive modeling, large-scale optimization, large language models, and agent-based systems present exciting opportunities for developing innovative scheduling solutions. These innovations open the door to next-generation solutions that are smarter, more adaptive, and capable of handling unprecedented complexity. This special issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research that pushes the boundaries of intelligent scheduling. We seek foundational studies and theories, innovative models, and real-world applications that demonstrate how advanced technologies can revolutionize scheduling across diverse domains. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Scheduling theory AI-driven adaptive and real-time scheduling Multi-agent and decentralized scheduling Scheduling under uncertainty and disruptions Production scheduling Service scheduling Personnel scheduling Transportation scheduling Cloud computing scheduling Workflow scheduling Healthcare and hospital scheduling Energy and smart grid scheduling We invite submissions that address these and related challenges, offering new insights, methodologies, and applications that advance the theory and practice of intelligent scheduling.
