The Visual Computer (TVC) is an academic journal published by Springer. (ISSN 0178-2789, impact factor 2.9, CCF C).

Aims and scope The Visual Computer publishes high-quality research on all aspects of computer graphics and visual computing, with a special focus on the rapidly evolving integration of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and graphics. Modern visual computing stands at the convergence of graphics (generative, simulation, rendering), vision (analysis, perception, scene understanding) and AI (representation learning, generative models, multimodal models). The Visual Computer is one of the few journals that explicitly embraces this intersection and publishes research that combines all three. The journal welcomes original contributions that advance the theory, algorithms, systems, and applications enabling the creation, analysis, and interaction with visual content. We invite work in areas including (but not limited to): Rendering and Real-Time Graphics Neural Rendering and AI-Based Graphics Pipelines Generative Models for Visual Computing (diffusion, transformers, VLMs, multimodal models) Geometry Processing and 3D Reconstruction Neural Scene Representations (NeRFs, 3D Gaussians, SDFs) Image and Video Processing, Restoration, and Enhancement Computer Vision for Graphics, including detection, segmentation, pose estimation, and scene understanding 3D reconstruction from Images and Video Animation, Simulation, and Digital Humans Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (XR) Computational Photography Perception-Driven Graphics & User Interaction Visual Analytics and Scientific Visualization AI-Assisted Content Creation and Authoring Tools Applications in medicine, robotics, digital twins, cultural heritage, and more Multimodal AI for Graphics
