This special issue is designed to provide an international forum on the progress and further possibilities of in situ TEM for the development of advanced materials and innovative technologies. Special issue information: Energy, climate, and health-related materials are always of utmost interest to the human society. Recent world upheavals and instrument progress bring in situ TEM to a new level of pursuit for its merit to bridge fundamental research and industrialization across atomic to micro scales. This special issue is designed to provide an international forum on the progress and further possibilities of in situ TEM for the development of advanced materials and innovative technologies. The topics will cover, but are not limited to: Nucleation and growth of low-dimensional materials. Dynamics in catalysis and energy processes. Advances in novel in situ TEM instruments and methodology. Unraveling complex processes using in situ TEM under extreme conditions like elevated stress, temperature, pressure and irradiation. Manuscript submission information: Submission Open Date: Dec 1, 2023 Submission Close Date: May 31, 2024 The journal’s submission platform (Editorial Manager®) will soon be available for receiving submissions to this Special Issue. Please refer to the Guide for Authors to prepare your manuscript, and select the article type “VSI: Multi-scale Dynamic TEM” when submitting your manuscript online. Both the Guide for Authors and the submission portal can be found on theJournal Homepage. All the submissions deemed suitable to be sent for peer review will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Upon its editorial acceptance, your article will go into production immediately. It will be published in the latest regular issue and presented on the specific Special Issue webpage simultaneously. In regular issues, Special Issue articles will be clearly marked and branded.
