## Call for papers

The ESTS 2027 Technical Program Committee solicits paper submissions on a range of technical topics that relate broadly to the development and implementation of electric ship platforms. Marine platforms of interest to ESTS range from ships with traditional electric power distribution through fully electrified vessels. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following as applied to electric ships and vessels (all papers should contain relevance to electrification of ships): Ship-level and system-level modeling and design Modeling tools and methods, including hardware-in-the-loop Digital twins and the digital thread Model-based systems engineering Subsystem and electronic component models Power converter topologies, design, and manufacturing Semiconductor device modeling, characterization, and packaging at medium voltage, including wide and ultra-wide bandgap Gate drive modeling, design, and analysis Hardware and software for control systems and modulation Artificial intelligence, machine learning and related applications Autonomous design tools and methods Cyber-physical systems, cybersecurity, and cyber resilience DC power distribution Medium frequency AC power distribution AC and DC power system stability Pulsating loads and system impact Protections, reconfiguration, and survivability for AC and DC systems Dielectrics, partial discharge, and creepage/clearance Common-mode and differential-mode behavior Novel and innovative sensor technologies Electromagnetic interference / electromagnetic compatibility Filter design, tools, and methods Advanced magnetics for energy conversion Superconducting devices & systems Electric power generation and propulsion systems Distributed and hybrid energy storage systems Battery-electric ship: implementations, reliability/availability, and charging infrastructures Wireless charging at kW and MW scale Uncrewed vessels and autonomous shipboard systems Fuel cells and integration Impact of alternative fuels on electrification of ships Cold-ironing and shore power infrastructure Cabling considerations Cooling systems & thermal management Decarbonization & carbon capture / emission control systems Additive and 3D manufacturing methods for energy conversion
