ACM Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT) is the premier multi-disciplinary scholarly journal on Internet/Web foundational and application technology and on social issues and public policy. Internet/Web technology encompasses many disciplines in computing, including computer software engineering, computer programming languages, middleware, management of unstructured, semi-structured and structured data, security, electronic commerce, knowledge discovery and data mining, multimedia data management, networking and distributed systems, communications, performance and scalability, etc. The social issues and public policy include all major ways in which use of Internet/Web technology impacts the society and people.

TOIT has historically focused on the technology and societal issues associated with the services on which the Internet is built, e.g., session layer and above. A good source for journal scope are the journal papers themselves. Prospective authors are encouraged to review past issues for a perspective on topic relevance.
